Children´s Diaries during the Holocaust

A small number of the children who suffered persecution of the hands of the Nazis and their Axis partners write a diary of the experience that they live in that era.
Some childrens who wrote diaries are:
  • Miriam Wattenberg who born in Lódz on October 10, 1924. She starts to write her diary in October 1939.
  • Anne Frank born in Germany on June 12, 1929. Her history is the most popular in the world because her father published her diary when he managed to escape of the concentration camp.
  • Others...
The diaries are clasificated in three categories:

  •  Diaries written by children who escaped German-controlled territory and became refugees or partisans
  • Diaries written by children living in hiding
  • Diaries maintained by young people as ghetto residents, as persons living under other restrictions imposed by German authorities, or, more rarely, as concentration camp prisoners.
